Painting Nature with Watercolour (ages 16+)

Tuesdays 6:30-8pm
February 3-March 10/26 This 6-week beginner-friendly watercolour course invites you to explore the beauty of nature through painting trees, plants, and skies, while building essential landscape painting skills. Each week, you’ll be guided step-by-step through fundamental watercolour techniques, including colour mixing and blending, layering washes, creating texture, and developing depth and atmosphere in your paintings. Through a series of approachable projects, you’ll learn how to capture light, movement, and mood—whether it’s the softness of clouds, the structure of tree branches, or the gentle flow of foliage. Emphasis is placed on observation, experimentation, and enjoying the process rather than perfection. No prior watercolour experience is required. This relaxed and supportive environment is perfect for beginners or anyone looking to refresh their skills, connect with nature through art, and leave each class with increased confidence and beautiful, expressive work. Visual Journaling (ages 16+)

2026 Dates TBD Visual Journaling is a class that requires no prior art experience. Students will select a sketchbook to use throughout the course and fill it with personal materials—such as receipts, papers, and tickets—alongside a variety of mixed media to explore their thoughts, feelings, and ideas. Painting, drawing, collage, and stamping are just some of the techniques students can incorporate into their art journals. Visual journaling offers a creative space for reflection, vulnerability, exploration, patience, and mindfulness. Taught by Madi Class Size 4-8 Students Class cost $240 +gst |

Mixed Media Drawing (ages 16+)

This class teaches intermediate drawing techniques to students who have some experience drawing. Using pencil, pastel, water media and more students will learn to create colourful drawings of many subjects. There will be a focus on making drawings that reflect each students personal style and interests, working from photographs and personal objects. Intermediate Painting Class (ages 16+)

2026 Dates TBD This painting class is for students with some experience painting. Students are welcome to bring watercolour, gouache or acrylic paint for this class. Weekly themes will be offered and students will work independently while the instructor gives one on one advice when needed.
