In a relaxed and supportive studio setting, you’ll explore the basics of oil painting through a flat, simplified style that emphasizes bold colour, shape, and creative expression. This class is designed to help you feel confident using oil paints while encouraging your own artistic voice. Painting Nature with Watercolour (ages 16+)

May 27 - June 17 (4 weeks) This 4-week beginner-friendly course explores painting nature through trees, plants, and skies; building key landscape painting skills. Learn techniques for blending colours, creating depth, and capturing the beauty of nature in a relaxed environment. Beginner Acrylic Portraits (ages 16+)

Wednesdays 7-8:30pm May 14 - June 11 (5 weeks) In this beginner course, you will learn how to paint portraits with acrylics. Acrylic paint is the choice for many artists because of the creamy texture, ability to blend smoothly with clean colours, water solubility and of course you can use it on so many supports. You will learn how to paint features from photos, create dimension with skin tones, paint teeth, glasses hair and more! If you are interested in learning how to paint portraits using acrylics this class will be perfect for you! Visual Journaling (ages 16+)

September 10 - October 8 (5 weeks)
Wednesdays 7-8:30pm Visual Journaling is a class requiring no previous art experience. Students choose a sketchbook to work in throughout and use personal receipts, papers, tickets along with various mixed mediums to explore feelings, thoughts, and ideas. Painting, drawing, collage and stamping are some of the mediums one could choose to incorporate into their art journal. Visual journaling allows for a space to practice reflection, vulnerability, creativity, exploration, patience, and mindfulness. We look forward to making art with you. Mixed Media Drawing (ages 16+)

This class teaches intermediate drawing techniques to students who have some experience drawing. Using pencil, pastel, water media and more students will learn to create colourful drawings of many subjects. There will be a focus on making drawings that reflect each students personal style and interests, working from photographs and personal objects. Intermediate Painting Class (ages 16+)

Fall Dates TBD This painting class is for students with some experience painting. Students are welcome to bring watercolour, gouache or acrylic paint for this class. Weekly themes will be offered and students will work independently while the instructor gives one on one advice when needed.
